Who we are
MLabs Games (games.mlabs.ng) is the home of the games made by MayR Labs (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the MLabs Games website, and every MLabs game that doesn’t have its own privacy policy. A game with its own policy, such as Naija Classic Games, follows that one instead.
If you have any question about your information, email hello@mlabs.ng.
The short version
- Our games are built to be played without an account.
- Your game progress, saves and settings stay on your phone unless a game clearly says otherwise.
- We only receive information from you when you choose to send us a message, such as a suggestion, feedback or a bug report.
- We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use your messages for advertising.
Information that stays on your phone
To work, a game saves things on your device only: your progress and saves, settings such as language, sound and theme, and your choices in the game. We don’t receive them. Deleting the game removes them.
Information you send us
Games can have a “Talk to us” screen. When you send something, we receive:
- What you write, and the type of message you picked.
- Your email address, so we can thank you and reply. Your name too, if you add it.
- Screenshots, only if you choose to attach them.
- Basic technical details: the game and its version, your phone’s model and operating system version, and your language. These help us fix problems faster.
- A device check. To make sure messages come from a real copy of the game and not from automated spam, the game proves it is genuine using Google Play Integrity (Android) or Apple App Attest (iPhone). This gives us a random device identifier and a yes or no answer about whether the game is genuine. It does not tell us who you are.
We use this only to read and act on your message, reply to you, send you one thank-you email, keep our services safe from abuse, and decide what to build next. We don’t add you to a mailing list or send marketing emails.
Waitlists
Some game pages let you join a waitlist. When you do, we keep your email address and which game you’re waiting for, and send you a confirmation and one email when the game comes out. We don’t use waitlist emails for anything else, and you can ask us to remove yours at any time. To limit abuse we briefly keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your network address, which can’t be turned back into the address.
Advertising and purchases
Some games may show ads or offer purchases. If a game does, its store listing says so, and the ad or payment provider handles the information it needs for that. If a game does this in a way that changes how your information is handled, that game gets its own privacy policy.
Who helps us run the service
We use a few trusted providers to run the website and handle your messages. They process information only on our instructions:
- Our hosting provider and database, where messages are stored.
- Amazon Web Services (S3) or a compatible storage provider, for screenshots you attach.
- Resend, to send the thank-you email and to forward messages to our team.
- Google and Apple, for the Play Integrity and App Attest checks described above.
- Clerk, which signs in the members of our team who read messages. Players never sign in.
Some of these providers are outside Nigeria. When your information is transferred abroad, we rely on providers that protect it with appropriate safeguards, as the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 requires.
How long we keep it
We keep messages and their screenshots for as long as they are useful to improve our games, and for no more than two years. You can ask us to delete yours at any time. Device check records are kept while the game on that phone keeps using them and are deleted when they’re no longer needed.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and similar laws where you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it;
- stop using it, or object to how we use it.
Email hello@mlabs.ng from the address you used and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Children
Our games are made for a wide audience, and some are for older players only. Each game’s store listing shows its age rating. Playing doesn’t require personal information, but sending us a message asks for an email address, so children should ask a parent or guardian first. If you believe a child has sent us personal information without permission, contact us and we’ll delete it.
The website
The website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and you don’t need an account to use it. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) to keep the site running and secure. The admin area uses cookies to keep our team signed in.
Security
Messages travel over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Screenshots are stored privately and are only shown to our team through links that expire. Only invited team members can read messages.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top and, where it makes sense, tell you in the game.
