Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Aghogho Meyoron, trading as MLabs Games (“we”, “us”), the maker of the Bible Games app and the website at games.mlabs.ng/biblegames. By downloading the game or using the website, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.
The app is not directed at children under 13. Younger children are welcome to play alongside a parent or guardian, for example in pass-and-play, on the adult’s phone.
Using the game
The game is proprietary software. All rights are reserved. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to download and play the game on devices you own or control, for your own enjoyment, and with your family, church or class. The game is free to play and shows ads (see our Privacy Policy).
You agree not to:
- copy, modify, resell, rent or redistribute the game, or publish modified or repackaged versions of it;
- reverse engineer, decompile or extract the game’s question banks, puzzles, data or artwork, or try to get around the checks that protect it;
- use the game’s content, in whole or in part, to build another product, dataset or service, including to train machine learning models;
- cheat, for example by sending scores the game didn’t produce, or by automating play;
- use the game, its leaderboards, display names or lobbies to harass, impersonate or offend other people;
- use the game or website in a way that could harm us, other people, or our services.
The app store you download from (Google Play or the App Store) also has its own terms that apply to your download.
Scripture and our content
Scripture in the game is from the King James Version, which is in the public domain. The questions, clues, puzzles, explanations and their selection and arrangement are our own work. We take care to make every answer and reference accurate, but mistakes happen: if you find one, please report it from the game. Bible Games is a game for learning and fun. It is not a substitute for reading the Bible, and it doesn’t represent the teaching of any particular church or denomination.
Your display name
Leaderboards and lobbies show a display name and avatar. Choose a name that is 2 to 20 characters, isn’t offensive, and isn’t someone else’s. We may change any name, remove scores that look impossible, and stop a player from appearing on leaderboards or joining lobbies if they break these terms.
Points have no value
Scores, streaks, points, ranks and anything else you earn in the game are part of the game. They have no real-world value, can’t be exchanged for money or anything real, and can’t be sold or transferred. The game is not gambling.
Your progress
Your progress is saved on your phone. If you use cloud save, a backup is kept on our servers so you can restore it. We take reasonable care of backups but can’t promise that progress will never be lost, for example if you delete the game without a backup, or after a change to the game.
Ads
The game shows ads from third parties, through Google AdMob. We don’t control what they advertise, and we’re not responsible for their content or for what you do after leaving the game through an ad.
Testing
While the game is in closed testing, it may be unfinished or buggy, and things may change or disappear between versions, including scores and progress. Feedback you give as a tester helps us decide what ships. Please don’t publish material from test builds that we haven’t released publicly.
Updates and availability
We may update the game over the air to add questions, fix problems or change features, and we may stop offering a feature (such as online lobbies or leaderboards) or the game. We try to keep everything working, but we can’t promise the game, its online features or the website will always be available or free of errors.
Ownership
The game, including its code, questions, puzzles, text, data, artwork, logos, sound effects and design, but not the Scripture text itself, is owned by Aghogho Meyoron (MLabs Games) and protected by copyright and other laws. “Bible Games”, its logo and “MLabs Games” are our trademarks. The lo-fi background music is original work by Yung MayR, and the fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License. Nothing in these terms gives you ownership of any of it, only the right to play described above.
Suggestions and feedback
We love hearing from you. If you send us an idea, a report or feedback, you agree that we may use it to improve or add to our games, for free and without owing you anything. Please don’t send us anything that belongs to someone else or that you want to keep confidential. How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
No warranty
The game and website are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms, including about fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Our total liability to you for anything related to the game or website is limited to ₦10,000. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including your rights as a consumer where you live.
Ending these terms
You can stop using the game at any time by deleting it. If you break these terms, your right to use the game ends, and we may stop your access to our online services, such as leaderboards, lobbies, cloud save and the waitlist.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If there’s a dispute, we’d like to sort it out together first, so please contact us. Otherwise, the courts of Nigeria will have jurisdiction, without taking away any rights you have under the consumer laws of the place where you live.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll update the date at the top and, where it makes sense, tell you in the game. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
